What to do if you were scammed by an investment platform
1. Cut contact and don’t pay more
Scammers usually ask for more money to "unlock" your profits: taxes, fees or a minimum deposit. It is all part of the fraud. Do not pay anything else and do not answer their calls.
2. Contact your bank immediately
If you paid by card, request a chargeback. If you made a bank transfer, ask them to try to recall it. If you paid in crypto, notify the exchange you sent the funds from. Speed is key.
3. Secure your devices and accounts
If you installed remote-control software, uninstall it, change your banking and email passwords and enable two-factor authentication.
4. Report it
File a police report with all your evidence (screenshots, emails, phone numbers, payment receipts) and notify your country’s financial regulator.
5. Beware of the second scam
After a scam it is very common to receive offers from firms promising to recover your money for an upfront fee. They are almost always the same scammers or others who bought your data. The real routes are your bank, the police and the regulator.
